Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp (15 mL) butter or margarine
  • 2/3 cup (150 mL) Bisquick* Mix
  • 1 1/2 tsp (7 mL) paprika
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) salt or garlic salt
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) Italian seasoning, if desired
  • 1/4 tsp (.5 mL) pepper
  • 1 cup-up whole chicken (3 to 3 1/2 lb)

    Heat oven to 425ºF. In 13x9-inch (3-quart) glass baking dish, melt butter in oven.

    In medium bowl, stir together Bisquick mix, paprika, salt, Italian seasoning and pepper. Coat chicken with Bisquick mixture. Place skin side down in heated dish.

    Bake 35 minutes. Turn chicken; bake about 15 minutes longer or until juice of chicken is clear when thickest piece is cut to bone (170ºF for breasts; 180ºF for thighs and drumsticks).
