  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups quick-cooking or old-fashioned oats
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup lightly packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 3 cups Honey Nut Cheerios™ cereal

Steps

  •
    1
Heat oven to 375°F. Grease cookie sheet or line with parchment paper.
  •
    2
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, oats, baking soda and salt; set aside.
  •
    3
In a second large bowl, using an electric mixer, beat together butter and both types of sugar. Add eggs and vanilla and beat until creamy and well blended. Add flour mixture and beat on low just until combined. Stir in Honey Nut Cheerios™. Drop by large spoonfuls (about 2 tbsp each) onto cookie sheet, placing about 2 inches apart.

    4
Bake 10 to 11 minutes until cookies are set and the Cheerios on the surface start turning golden brown. Allow to cool 2 minutes; remove from cookie sheet to wire rack and cool completely before storing in an airtight container. Makes 32 to 36 large cookies

Expert Tips

  • Tip 1
Did you know? Both quick-cooking and old-fashioned oats are rolled oats. The only difference between the two is that the quick oats are cut into lots of pieces before they are steamed and rolled.
