Ingredients

  • 6 cups (1.5 L) Honey Nut Chex* Cereal
  • 2 cups (500 mL) pecan halves
  • 1 1/2 cups (375 mL) dried banana chips
  • 1/3 cup (75 mL) packed brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup (75 mL) butter
  • 3/4 tsp (3 mL) ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp (2 mL) banana extract
  • 1/2 tsp (2 mL) rum extract

    In large microwaveable bowl, mix cereal, pecans and banana chips.

    In 2-cup microwaveable measuring cup, microwave brown sugar, butter and cinnamon uncovered on High about 1 1/2 minutes, stirring after 1 minute, until melted and smooth. Stir in extracts. Pour over cereal mixture; stir until evenly coated.

    Microwave uncovered on High 3 minutes, stirring after each minute. Spread on waxed paper or foil to cool; break into bite-size pieces. Store in airtight container.
