Ingredients

  • 1 box Betty Crocker* SuperMoist* Golden Cake Mix
  • 1 cup (250 mL) mashed very ripe bananas (2 medium)
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) water
  • 1/4 cup (50 mL) butter or margarine, softened
  • 3 eggs
  • 3/4 cup (175 mL) miniature semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 container Betty Crocker* Creamy Deluxe* Chocolate Frosting

    Heat oven to 375ºF (350ºF for dark or nonstick pan). Place paper baking cup in each of 24 regular-size muffins cups.

    In large bowl, beat cake mix, bananas, water, butter and eggs with electric mixer on low speed 30 seconds, then on medium speed 2 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally. Stir in chocolate chips. Spoon batter evenly into muffin cups.

    Bake 18 to 24 minutes or until toothpick inserted in centre comes out clean. Remove from pan to cooling racks. Cool completely, about 30 minutes. Frost cupcakes with frosting. Store loosely covered.

    Did You Know? If you have only one pan and a recipe calls for more cupcakes than your pan will make, cover and refrigerate the rest of the batter while baking the first batch. Cool the pan about 15 minutes, then bake the rest of the batter, adding 1 to 2 minutes to the bake time.
