Ingredients

  • 3 cups (750 mL) Honey Nut or Rice Chex* cereal
  • 2 cups (500 mL) Cheerios* cereal
  • 1 1/2 cups (375 mL) Bugles* Original Corn Snacks
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) honey-roasted peanuts or 1 cup (250 mL) pretzels
  • 2 tbsp (30 mL) light corn syrup
  • 2 tbsp (30 mL) honey
  • 1 tbsp (15 mL) butter or margarine
  • 1/2 tsp (2 mL) vanilla

    Heat oven to 325ºF. In very large bowl, mix cereals, snacks and peanuts.

    In 1-quart saucepan, heat corn syrup, honey and butter to boiling over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla. Pour over cereal mixture, stirring until evenly coated. Spread in ungreased 15x10x1-inch pan.

    Bake 20 minutes, stirring after 10 minutes. Spread on waxed paper or foil to cool, about 15 minutes. Break into bite-size pieces. Store in airtight container.

  • Tip 1
    Microwave Tip : Microwave the corn syrup, honey and butter in a 1-cup microwavable measuring cup about 1 minute on the High setting.
  • Tip 2
    Tip : A 13x9-inch rectangular baking pan can be used instead. Bake 24 minutes, stirring after 12 minutes.
