Grilled Bratwurst Reubens

Mix it up at your next tailgate party or backyard get-together with this combo in a bun, combining grilled sausages with classic Reuben flavours. Bottled dressing makes it ultra-easy.

Ingredients

  • 8 cooked bratwurst
  • 1 jar (16 oz) sauerkraut (2 cups/500 mL), rinsed and drained well
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) Thousand Island dressing
  • 8 rye bratwurst buns, split

    Heat gas or charcoal grill. Place bratwurst on grill. Cover grill; cook over medium heat 6 to 8 minutes, turning frequently, until thoroughly heated.

    Meanwhile, in medium bowl, mix sauerkraut and dressing.

    To toast buns, place cut side down on grill during last 30 to 60 seconds of cooking time.

    Place bratwurst in buns. Top each with about 1/4 cup sauerkraut mixture.
