Chocolate Streusel Banana-Carrot Cake

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 cup (50 mL) firmly packed brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp (25 mL) all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp (25 mL) butter or margarine, melted
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 1/2 cups (375 mL) sliced very ripe bananas (about 3 medium)
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) sour cream
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 pkg Betty Crocker* SuperMoist* Carrot Cake Mix
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) semisweet chocolate chips

    Heat oven to 350ºF. Grease and flour 13x9-inch pan. In medium bowl, combine all streusel ingredients except 1/2 cup chocolate chips; mix well. Stir in chocolate chips. Set aside.

    In large bowl, combine bananas, sour cream and eggs; beat with electric mixer at medium speed until well blended. Add cake mix; beat at low speed until combined. Beat 2 minutes at medium speed. Stir in 1/2 cup chocolate chips. Spoon into greased and floured pan. Sprinkle with streusel.

    Bake at 350ºF. for 30 to 40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in centre comes out clean. Cool 1 hour or until completely cooled.
