Ingredients

  • 1 pouch Betty Crocker* Sugar Cookie Mix
  • 2 tbsp (25 mL) all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup (75 mL) butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tub Betty Crocker* Creamy Deluxe* Vanilla Frosting
  • Assorted candies, if desired

    Heat oven to 375ºF. In medium bowl, stir cookie mix, flour, butter and egg until dough forms.

    On lightly floured surface, roll dough to about 1/4-inch thickness. Cut with 4 1/2-inch turkey- or hand-shaped cookie cutter; place 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheets.

    Bake 7 to 9 minutes or until edges are light golden brown. Cool 1 minute; remove from cookie sheets to cooling racks. Cool completely, about 15 minutes. Frost and decorate with candies as desired.

  • Tip 1
    Substitution: Make a cookie cutter out of cardboard, using the outline of a child's hand to make the shape. Cut out cardboard shape, place on cookie dough and cut around cardboard.

    Special Touch: Personalize turkeys with a child's handprint. Using decorator frosting, write the child's name on the cookie; wrap in plastic wrap and tie with ribbon.
