Baked Crescent Apple Dumplings

Nothing says fall like the smell of baked apples and cinnamon. Try these wonderfully delicious dumplings at your next dinner party and watch your guests swoon with delight!

Ingredients

  • 4 small apples, peeled & cored
  • 2 tbsp (25 mL) butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup (50 mL) packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp (2 mL) each cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice
  • 1/4 tsp (1 mL) ground cloves
  • 4 tsp (20 mL) jelly or jam
  • 1 can (235 g) Pillsbury* Crescents

Steps

    Heat oven to 375°F (190°C). Combine butter, brown sugar and spices until creamy.

    Separate dough into 4 rectangles; seal perforations. Place apple in center of each rectangle, fill centre of apple with jelly.

    Spoon 1/4 of spice mixture on top of each apple. Pull 4 corners of dough to top of apple, twist slightly and seal edges.

    Ease dough around apples to cover completely and evenly. Place on ungreased baking sheet.

    Bake for 20 to 22 minutes or until deep golden brown.
