Ingredients

  • 1 box frozen chopped spinach
  • 1 cup (250 mL) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) cottage cheese
  • 1/4 cup (50 mL) grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 lb (500 g) ground beef
  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 box Hamburger Helper* Lasagne
  • 3 cups (750 mL) hot water

Steps

  •
    1
Heat oven to 375ºF. Rinse spinach with cold water to separate; drain thoroughly. In small bowl, mix mozzarella, cottage and Parmesan cheeses.
  •
    2
In large skillet, cook beef and garlic over medium heat 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until beef is brown; drain.
  •
    3
In ungreased 2-quart casserole or 11x7-inch glass baking dish, mix beef mixture, spinach, uncooked pasta, sauce mix and hot water. Spoon cheese mixture evenly over top.
  •
    4
Bake uncovered 40 to 50 minutes or until top is golden brown and sauce is bubbly.

Expert Tips

  • Tip 1
Success : Using paper towels to blot the spinach after you drain it is a good way to absorb any remaining moisture so the mixture won't be too thin.
  • Tip 2
Substitution : No fresh garlic? Use 1/8 teaspoon dried minced garlic instead.
