Ham and String Cheese Roll-Ups

Ingredients

  • 2 cups (500 mL) Bisquick* Mix
  • 1/4 cup (50 mL) water
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp (10 mL) honey mustard
  • 4 sticks (1 oz each) mozzarella string cheese
  • 8 slices (about 1 oz each) thinly sliced cooked ham (from deli)
  • 1 tbsp (15 mL) milk

    Heat oven to 375ºF. In medium bowl, stir Bisquick mix, water and egg until dough forms. Place dough on surface sprinkled with Bisquick mix; roll in Bisquick mix to coat. Knead about 10 times. Divide dough into 4 pieces.

    For each sandwich, place 1 piece of dough on surface sprinkled with Bisquick mix; roll in Bisquick mix to coat. Press or roll into 6 1/2x4 1/2-inch rectangle, 1/4 inch thick.

    Spread each dough rectangle with 1/2 teaspoon mustard. Wrap each cheese stick with 2 slices of ham. Place ham and cheese bundle in centre of dough. Bring up dough over bundle; pinch to seal. Pinch ends and tuck under. On ungreased baking sheet, place rolls with seam sides down. Brush with milk.

    Bake 18 to 23 minutes or until crust is golden brown. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
