  • 8 oz (250 g) sliced Cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) barbecue sauce

Steps

  •
    1

Wrap each loaf in heavy-duty aluminum foil. Grill covered 3 to 4 inches from medium heat about 15 minutes or until cheese is melted and sandwiches are hot.

Expert Tips

  • Tip 1
Pack 'n Go: Make these hearty subs either ahead of time or at your picnic site. If you plan to take the ingredients, start the grill when you begin assembling the sandwiches.
  • Tip 2
Variation: Go beyond regular barbecue sauces and experiment with hot and spicy, honey-mustard or hickory-smoked barbecue sauce for a different sub every time!
