Ingredients

  • 1 lb (500 g) bulk pork sausage, cooked and drained
  • 1 1/2 cups (375 mL) sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) sliced green onions
  • 1 1/2 cups (375 mL) chopped tomatoes
  • 2 cups (500 mL) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 1/4 cups (300 mL) Bisquick* Mix
  • 1 cup (250 mL) milk
  • 1 1/2 tsp (7 mL) salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp (7 mL) chopped fresh oregano leaves or 1/2 tsp (2 mL) dried oregano leaves
  • 1/2 tsp (2 mL) pepper
  • 12 eggs

    Heat oven to 350ºF. Grease rectangular baking dish, 13x9x2 inches. Layer sausage, mushrooms, onions, tomatoes and cheese in dish.

    Stir remaining ingredients until blended. Pour over cheese.

    Bake uncovered 30 to 35 minutes or until golden brown and set.

    Substitution: Spice it up! Use chorizo or hot Italian sausage instead of the bulk pork sausage for more heat.
  • Tip 2
    Kitchen Tip: Bulk pork sausage is the raw meat that hasn't been stuffed into the casing. If you can't find it, you can buy raw sausages, slit the casing with a knife and remove the meat.
