Who’s going to Vancouver?

When she found out she was the grand prize winner in the recent Life Made Delicious getaway contest, Alison was “speechless.” And no wonder: she won a free trip to the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games. We caught up with Alison to find out what it’s like to win big.

What did you do when you found out?
I was out of breath. Then I told my husband and he picked me up and swung me around.

Who are you taking with you to Vancouver?
My husband. I couldn't take anyone else. Actually, my husband lived in Vancouver many years ago. So we're going to see some of his old friends while we're there.

What is your favourite Olympic Games sport?
I like figure skating, and I find the skiing interesting too. It's amazing what the athletes can do. They're so talented.

What is your favourite Olympic Games memory/moment?
When the Canadian figure skaters [Jamie Sale and David Pelletier] lost [at the 2002 Winter games], and then wound up winning their gold medals. It was nice to see them get what they deserved.

What are you most looking forward to?
Having a nice change of pace—not having to cook! I'm also really excited about the events.

What's the first thing you plan to do when you get there?
Have a drink and relax.
