Green Beans with Flavoured Olive Oil

This quick and delicious side dish is the perfect accompaniment to roast chicken, turkey or beef. Better yet, each serving provides a source of three antioxidant vitamins!


1 pkg (500 g) Green Giant* VALLEY SELECTIONS* Frozen Whole Green Beans
3 tbsp(45 mL) olive oil
1 1/2 tsp (7 mL) grated lemon peel
1 1/2 tsp (7 mL) dried marjoram or oregano
1/8 tsp (0.5 mL) salt
lemon slices, if desired


  • Cook green beans according to package directions; drain well.
  • Meanwhile, in small saucepan on medium heat, warm olive oil.
  • Remove from heat, stir in lemon rind, marjoram and salt. Pour over beans; toss to coat. Garnish with lemon slices.

Tip
Tip: Try substituting grated orange rind in place of lemon for a refreshing flavour twist. Garnish with orange slices, if desired.
