1 cup (250 mL) walnut pieces
1/2 cup (125 mL) packed brown sugar

2 cups (500 mL) dried or freeze-dried apples, coarsely chopped if necessary
1 cup (250 mL) white vanilla baking chips
1 tsp (5 mL) shortening
Did You Know?: Freeze-drying apples is another method of dehydrating apples. Freeze-dried apples will be crispier and lighter because they contain less moisture than regular dried apples.
How To : For easy drizzling, spoon the melted white vanilla baking chips into a small food-storage bag. Snip off one tiny bottom corner and squeeze the melted chips over the cereal mixture.
