Apple Cranberry Crumble

4 cups (1 L) 1/2-inch slices peeled apples (about 4 medium)
1 cup (250 mL) fresh or frozen cranberries
1 tsp (5 mL) grated orange peel
1/2 cup (125 mL) granulated sugar
1 cup (250 mL) Fibre 1* Original Cereal, finely crushed
3/4 cup (175 mL) old-fashioned oats
1/2 cup (125 mL) packed brown sugar
1/2 cup (125 mL) butter or margarine, softened
1 tsp (5 mL) ground cinnamon


  • Heat oven to 375ºF. Toss apples, cranberries, orange peel and granulated sugar in large bowl.
  • Mix remaining ingredients in medium bowl until crumbly. Press 1 cup of the Fibre 1* and oat mixture in ungreased square baking dish, 8x8x2 inches. Spread apple mixture over top. Sprinkle with remaining oat mixture.
  • Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until golden brown and apple mixture is bubbly around edges. Cool 30 minutes. Serve warm.
